December MbM Newsletter

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I appreciate all the help and understanding to allow me to take some time off to visit family.  It’s always so nice to see family, especially around the holidays,  but those flights can be brutal on our health and wellness.

That old back or neck injury loves to make an appearance after a few hour

flight, and our joints and muscles do not like being in 1 position for that long for sure!

In the month of December, my Motivational Mondays and Treatment Tuesdays posts on Instagram will be devoted to tips and tricks for staying healthy and minimizing those aches and pains along the way while traveling.

Start following me now for weekly treatment advice and up to date info:

We love collaboration at MbM!

A big thank you to both Dawn Johnson, as well as Nancy Neal for stepping up and being guest teacher’s for the Monthly Wellness Group!  Wellness group members had a taste of cardio kickboxing, as well as some alternative strengthening.  So fun!  As a wellness group member, they have had access to guest speakers and teachers ranging from pelvic health specialists, breath work facilitators, nutritionists and dietitians, and much more!  If you are interested in this group, come by for a FREE class any Mon or Wed from 12-1pm at 311 Price st, or reach out for more info.

-Well Yes is a new wellness venture I recently launched with Susan Chartier, and this past month we delivered our second free community talk—this one focused on strategies for fighting fatigue. We had a fantastic turnout and are excited to offer Part 2 of the series in January, where we’ll dive into the next two pillars of health. We’re also working to bring additional local healthcare providers on board for that session.

Dates will be announced soon!

New Releases:

-6 session Low Back Pain class  released online

We have held multiple sessions for this class in person, and there has been such a large demand for it at other times, that I created an online-only version. This allows you to access it at your convenience, and go through it at your own pace. Because it is not in person, I was able to drop the price, with all the same wonderful content!

You get:

*Six, 1-hour classes led by a licensed Physical Therapist with over 20 years experience working with low back pain

*Videos, handouts with pictures and explanations of all exercises

*Bonus content including ergonomics, nutrition for back pain, and more

*This is an interactive class - designed to walk you through safe and effective exercises to treat YOUR back and help reduce pain, improve function, and hopefully avoid future flare-ups

*Ability to message me any time with questions

*Monthly live Q&A sessions available

*At the end of the 6 classes, the goal is to walk away with many options for exercises to treat low back pain, but 4-6 specific exercises that work for YOU to implement into your routine and keep your back healthy! The cost is $150, that is only $25/class!

Treat yourself, or buy it as a gift this holiday season for someone you know who needs it! Sign up via this link: https://l.bttr.to/aDpNn

-Hip and knee Osteoarthritis class to be released soon

Similar format to the 6 week Low Back Pain class, this has been a popular option for folks to take control of their hip and knee pain.  There are 6 classes designed to be spaced about 1 week apart, but you are able to progress at your own pace, and on your own time!  Same great content.  This should be released by mid-Dec!

-Part 2 of the Fatigue talk by Well Yes scheduled for Jan, 2026

Date TBA soon!

-Schedule your New Year Movement Check-up now!

Hopefully you see your doctor on a yearly basis for a check-up, you get your teeth cleaned, why not give your muscles and joints the same attention?  Be proactive with your health and PREVENT the injury before it happens.  Or, maybe you need guidance to start working towards a new goal.  Whatever it may be, we will do a full body movement screen, find out where you may be compensating or have weaknesses or tightness, and start your new year off with a few specific exercises or health modifications that will allow you to accomplish those goals of 2026!

Deal of the month!

Medicine by Movement has officially been operating for 2 years!  Because of that, and as a special holiday gift to my current and past clients, I am extending the Black Friday deal with 25% off all packages.  This can be given as a gift, or used for yourself.  All packages are good for 1 year, and can be shared between immediate family members.  This offer will expire Dec 31st, so reach out prior or use the link or QR code below!

~A year in review~

Medicine by Movement “opened it’s car doors” in Dec of 2023 as a “soft open” for my mobile PT business, and really went into full swing Feb of 2024.  We finally moved into a space towards the end of 2024, and have made 311 Price Street our home for the past year.  Throughout 2025, I have continued to see Physical Therapy patients both in the office, as well as at home.  I’ve worked with kiddos as young as 8, and adults up to 98.  We’ve helped high school athletes get back to their sport, middle-aged fisherman with debilitating back pain get back to work, and older individuals improve their strength and balance.  I love working with each and every one of you, but my favorites are the folks that are trying to make a life-style change as opposed to just “fix” the injury.  The person who wants to prevent an injury from happening in the future, or the one who has so many issues they just don’t know where to start.  I’m talking to you - the 30-50 year-old female who was once an athlete, but because of work, children, or life in general, little injuries pile up and getting back into a routine just seems too overwhelming.  I got you.  Whether it’s helping with the injuries, or just creating a plan that can work into your nonexistent time for yourself, we will figure it out!  I continue to offer both single visit options, packages, as well as a membership option.  I have quite a few folks that are either on my 1 or 2x/month plan, where they get locked in to a lower price, and are guaranteed a visit each month.  This can be to work on a specific issue, it can be to fine-tune with manual work (dry needling, massage, mobilizations, etc), or it may be to take your goals to the next level and start working more on performance.  Whatever the reason, it’s a great way to keep a skilled set of eyes on you and prevent potential injuries from popping up, and treating them as we go if needed.

MbM hasn’t just been a space for PT.  I have held multiple classes, workshops, and groups over the past year.  We had two 6-week Low Back Pain and two 6-week Osteoarthritis classes that were so well attended I have now made them available on-line at your own pace. Many free workshops and injury-prevention classes were held, and of course, my Monthly Wellness Group continues to be one of my favorites!  This combines that passion for proactive/preventative care, movement, and a whole lot of fun.  These ladies (gentlemen are welcome as well, just no one has been brave enough to dive in yet!) work very hard, and I am so proud of each of them.  We currently have a core group of about 27, most of whom attend in person, but a few via zoom, and a few watching the recording.  I encourage anyone interested to come by for a free class!

And lastly, Susan Chartier and I have been working hard for the past year creating a new wellness business called Well Yes!  Our vision is to open the doors to a wellness center in the near future, but for now, we are starting with community outreach, classes and workshops.  Our vision holds true to Medicine by Movement’s mission of

Discovery ~ Foundation ~ Transformation.  But doing so in a more holistic, well-rounded way by creating a space that honors both Eastern and Western medicine.  A place where no one treatment technique or profession is the answer to all.  Instead, multiple practitioners coming together from various backgrounds to offer a collaborative approach to your health and wellness.  One where we discover what is needed together, create a solid foundation, and give you the tools to transform into what you deserve.  I truly believe, there is not one approach to health that works for everyone.  Unfortunately, most of our health care does just this, and we aim to change that!  I hope to eventually roll Medicine by Movement into this business model, but for now, we will continue to honor that mentality similar to the day I opened my doors with as much collaboration and access to care not only treating your current issue, but the whole body.

Thank you for all your support thus far. We are changing the way we do medicine here at MbM, and

you helped make this!  I look forward to working with you in 2026!

Your PT and Wellness Coach,

Alicia Haseltine PT, DPT, CMPT
